Aktiv Open Water Swim Course


Swim race distances are 1.9km (one lap), and 3.8km (two laps), the 1.5km race will be two laps of the 750m race. The Try-a-Swim is an out and back.  The swim race distances are designed to replicate open water swim distances in Half and Full Iron-Distance, Olympic, Sprint and Try-a-tri triathlon events.  As such wetsuits will be permitted.  There may be a ‘FINA’ legal category for ‘open water’ swimmers if there are enough registrations to support this option.


Swimmers racing in the:

  • Half-Iron Distance Swim (1.9km) will swim the maped out loop once.
  • Full-Iron Distance Swim (3.8km) will Swim the maped out loop two times.
  • Sprint Distance Swim (750m) will swim the maped out loop once.
  • Olympic Distance Swim (1.5km) will Swim the maped out loop two times. 
  • Try-a-Swim Distance Swim (500m) will swim the maped out and back course.
